I am the Director/Producer for a concept called EveTV. Currently working in MMO/Gaming Media filming events such as Fan Fests, award ceremonies and community player organized gatherings. As well as event for gaming companies, working with Content departments creating e-sports with live broadcasting, interviews of Dev teams and their gaming community.
Such and interesting two years. I think it all started when I returned to the States to shoot a documentary called Steeltown. It was a very interesting and trying project at the sametime. You hear about films that never make it to the final reel because of producing issues and well they happen. To sum it up. Producers are generally not the creative decision makers on a film set, and it does give them the sense that they are being left out in someway and you hear about thousands of films that get stopped because of production issues. Well regardless of writing a novel it seemed to be a bad year for most people I knew that year.
After a few months of meetings, transcripting and logging it all hit the editing room. A sweet little girl named Michiyo was my editor. Her and my mother (who was kind enough to let Michiyo stay with her) became the closest of friends and well it was a pleasure finishing a small demo of the film (the youtube link).
At the start of Steeltown's final post production project I was contacted by Eve Online and a gentleman who I used to DJ with and was flown out to Iceland to discuss this interesting idea of web broadcasting a tournament for the game. A game that has sucked away many hours of my student life back in London (which I should have used to study) and jumped at the chance to be the Director.
In summer of 2006 EveTV was born. We went to Iceland, we build a studio and interviewed many Developers of the game I adored. We had players Ifni and Stavros flown out to be the live experts and a host named spiralJunkie and well it all took off from there.
I stayed in Iceland through the summer and put together a 2 disc DVD of EveTV. Now Iceland is an interesting place, when you look out its beautiful, lovely views in the distance. However you see close up Reky is cold and expensive.
We were there for Eve Online's Fanfest which was lovely. Did lots of interviews with players and another live broadcast from the Hotel. The 3rd alliance tourny kicked off I then ran home just in time for the holidays in the States.
So here I am then. Working on future EveTV goodies and Djing at Split Infinity Radio who are some of the most talented and nicest people I have ever met.
Soon to be kicking off one of the most exciting career moves of my life and there you have it.
